It’s been a while since I’ve flown on a new-to-me airline, and I’m thrilled to share the KLM Business Class review with you today! I was in Europe for a little over two weeks between London, Brussels, and Amsterdam. I flew into London with Virgin Atlantic and home from Amsterdam to Los Angeles with KLM Business Class!
My Delta One Suites from Los Angeles to Tokyo post was well-received, so I knew I had to share my KLM experience with you too. Let’s do this!
KLM Business Class Seats
The seats on KLM Business Class were a 1 – 2 – 1 seat map. While I usually love window seats, there weren’t any available at the time of booking. I was also with my husband, so it was fun being in the middle two seats! The Delta One Suites are more of a cubicle style (you can see pictures here), but these were more open. I thought I’d prefer the cubicle, but this didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would!
I think the Dutch are on average taller than Americans, so the leg space was incredible. Significantly more space than the Delta One Suites. It was spacious in general, the seat itself was comfortable, and lots of counter space.
KLM Business Class Amenities
I’m such a sucker for first-class and business-class amenities! I don’t know if it’s because of my hospitality background or what, but it brings me so much joy. And yes, I indeed use everything, and when I don’t, it goes into my guest room welcome basket!
I’d have to rank this amenity bag higher than the Delta One one, I think. Mostly because the Ritual brand scent that’s exclusively made for KLM smells absolutely divine! They have their products in the bathrooms as well, and I would use the body spritz each time. The KLM scent is Tulip and Yuzu, which is so refreshing!
Lastly, while I’m an OCD traveler and always pack my fuzzy socks, I appreciate it so much that they included socks.
KLM Business Class Meals
Food in the KLM Business Class was non-stop (in a good way, ha!). Here was the meal schedule:
- Dutch Cheese or Mixed Nuts and a drink (pre-departure)
- 3-course dinner (appetizer, main dish, dessert)
- Dessert (yes, another dessert)
- Snack Basket (unlimited Dutch snacks)
- Full Lunch
Even though it was a 12-hour flight, I think they fed us frequently and well. I almost feel bad for the crew, as they never truly stopped serving! The food quality was wonderful, and I enjoyed everything. I appreciated that a lot was Dutch-inspired, and their wine list was better than most airlines.
Overall Experience
As I end this KLM Business Class review, it’s safe to say I had a wonderful experience. 10+ hour flights can be daunting, but I honestly could have gone another 10 on KLM business class! I felt the same way about Delta One Suites on my way home to Japan.
One thing I found so charming about the KLM Business Class experience is that they give you a parting gift. You can see below, a classic ceramic Dutch home. Apparently, there are over 100 versions, and they’re all numbered on the back. People collect these, and someone to my right was asking for specific numbers! How fun is that?
