Guest Post: 5 Easy Tips to Stay Healthy While Traveling

Hi, everyone! I’m so excited to introduce my guest poster, Bethanie. Funny story – she used to be my Night Auditor when I managed the Front Office at a hotel a few years ago! We’ve kept in touch and now she’s devoted to being a fitness queen who blogs about her healthy lifestyle. We had been chatting about guest posting on each other’s blogs and finally made it happen! So happy to have her here. Enjoy and make sure you go say hello on her Instagram and blog!

1. Plan Ahead

No matter what kind of traveling you’re doing don’t leave your food options up to fate! All those airplane peanuts and gas station snacks can add up! The worst is when you’re feeling “hangry” and aren’t prepared with healthier options and left being stuck with whatever is available. Instead, plan ahead of time! If you’re traveling by plane, bring as much solid food as you can. I like to bring fruit, granola bars or even a meal replacement shake that I can add to water later. (Remember you can’t bring liquids with you so think ahead what you can get past security.) If you’re already at the airport, grab water, salads or fruit bowls from local shops and bring them on the plane with you. That way you’re not stuck with the food cart. As far as road trips, pack a mini cooler to pack your snacks from home. I always pack mine with plenty of proteins, almonds, apples, and veggie baggies so that I can easily drive and eat! Don’t forget your water bottle!

2. Find a Local Grocery Store

If you can find a local grocer where you can load up on your dietary needs, I suggest doing so! Not only will it keep you on track with your health goals but it’ll help you save a money while you’re on vacation. Stock up on breakfast foods, snacks, and even some easy lunch ideas like wraps and salads. This way you can eat when you need to versus when it’s available. Now you can enjoy the bigger meals out at a nice restaurant and not feel guilty about the calories or the bill! If you do have to eat out while you’re on your trip, don’t be afraid to ask your server for food cooked the way you prefer. They already have chicken and rice, why not ask for them to cook it without the extra oils and butters. It never hurts to ask for substitutions, such as steamed veggies or a side salad.

3. Stay Active

After hours of car rides or sitting on an airplane, be sure to take some time to stretch your legs! When you have the choice, choose the more active option. Whether it’s taking the stairs, opting for a walking tour, or choosing public transportation, you can enjoy your second mojito because you burned so many calories that day! If you’re out exploring look for hiking excursions or trails! Some of these may take some time but will lead you to beautiful scenic waterfalls or private beaches! If you’re in the city or prefer the gym-rat life, check to see if your hotel has a gym; even getting 30 minutes of physical activity will do you wonders! You only need 30 minutes a day to feel like a rock star and have more energy to enjoy more out of your trip!

4. Stay Hydrated

Don’t forget to pack your water bottle! When you’re out and about in a new place it can be easy to forget to drink plenty of water. If you bring a water bottle it will be a good reminder for you to fill it up and keep it on you so you are not getting dehydrated. While on the plane, pass on the soda and alcohol, it’ll only leave you dehydrated and thirsty. Wouldn’t you rather enjoy a well deserved margarita by the pool as opposed to a plastic mini bottle?

5. Enjoy Vacation but Don’t Overindulge!

YES, you are on VACATION! But that doesn’t mean you need to throw all your healthy habits out the window! You don’t need a dessert with every meal you eat on your trip. Instead of splurging on sweets or alcohol, spoil yourself with a massage or a facial. I’m not one to say skip the desserts the entire trip but be mindful of how much you’re eating. Know your limit so you won’t be gorging yourself. Instead of feeling bloated and lethargic, you’ll feel content and confident as you stroll out in your bikinis and sundresses!

There are so many beautiful places in the world. Some of them are very famous while some have ordinary value. All these places are located in hilly areas of the world.

The kids of west are much sharp than the kids of east. The main reason behind this fact is the use of methods which are given to the kids in school life.

We can see a lot of things around us which are made for the benefit of us. But we use all these things in a bad way and wasting the beautiful aspects of nature.
