If you didn’t know this about me already, I’m a huge Harry Potter fan, a Potterhead, if you will. So when I found out there’s a Harry Potter themed coffee shop not only in LA but in downtown LA where I live, I couldn’t be giddier. I had just come off a Harry Potter high from visiting the Wizarding World at Universal Studios Hollywood for the first time, and had dressed up as a Slytherin student this Halloween.
Nimbus Coffee is located in the South Park neighborhood of downtown Los Angeles, near Staples Center. If it was immediately in my neighborhood, I would probably go on the daily to this beautiful Harry Potter themed coffee shop but alas, it’s practically on the polar opposite side of DTLA.
The interior of Nimbus Coffee is meticulously decorated and truly is so magical. Most likely for legal reasons they don’t have any obvious decor using house names or logos of course, but they still did such an incredible job with the decor.
Regular Drip Coffee Ginny Gingerbread Latte
Their menu is fairly simple which I appreciate, and their bakery selection is divine! We tried the Vegan Lemon Poppyseed Scone and pleasantly surprised with how delicious it was. I’ve had such bad luck with vegan baked goods but this was delicious. Was there early in the morning when I went, but next time I’ll be physically ready to try like 3 or 4 more of the delectable food.
Nimbus Coffee uses Stumptown Coffee beans and I’m a huge fan. The regular drip coffee is brewed to perfection, and the Ginny Gingerbread Latte is just the most festive!
Not to mention, they’re a small, black-owned and local business so you can feel great about supporting a fellow LA entrepreneur! The staff is all so sweet, helpful, and friendly.
