Disclosure: I paid for this stay. The InterContinental Fiji Golf & Spa Resort provided me with a media rate in exchange for this post. All opinions are as always, my own. Thank you for supporting brands that make Life in Wanderlust possible! Time to check out one of the most beautiful Fiji resorts!
Beware: I’m about to make a huge statement. After staying at literally hundreds of hotels in my lifetime, I can positively say that the InterContinental Fiji Golf & Spa Resort is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. This is coming an avid traveler and a former hospitality employee. That’s right, friends. It’s true and I wonder if any hotel could ever overtake the #1 spot.
My husband and I had always wanted to visit Fiji, so what better excuse was there than to go for our honeymoon? Even before we got engaged, we had our minds set on honeymooning in Fiji. Now the biggest question – which of the beautiful Fiji resorts to choose?
Let me tell you, I did so much research. I exhausted myself one too many nights looking through reviews, prices, and transportation options for Fiji resorts – I mean, everything. So much so I think I could be a Fiji hotel concierge since I know so much of the area, hotels, and offerings now!
So what did I land on? The InterContinental Fiji Golf & Spa Resort. Here’s why.
The Sweetest Suite
If we were going all the way to Fiji for our honeymoon, we were going to go for the best that InterContinental Fiji had to offer as far as rooms went. We booked the Club InterContinental One Bedroom Suite with Plunge Pool – and we were not disappointed.
As soon as we arrived, we hopped on the ‘Bula Bus’ (a big golf cart, basically) and headed up the hill away from the main resort area. We were welcomed to the Club InterContinental lounge where they processed our check-in. Once that was done, they drove us to our suite.
If you want to see a room tour, visit my Instagram Stories and you’ll see a highlight labeled “Fiji.” You’ll see the full room tour in addition to other snaps from the property!
Our suite was huge! A spacious living room area, exquisite marble bathroom, a comfortable king-size bed, and the best part in my opinion? The private Cleopatra bathtub and plunge pool outside. My husband can attest, I was in the plunge pool maybe 2-3x a day for our entire stay. At the end of the night, I would enjoy the Cleopatra bathtub amidst nature, aka frogs and baby lizards that would watch me bathe.
If you’re going all the way to Fiji, I highly recommend taking the plunge and booking this room at the InterContinental Fiji. Truly the sweetest suite!
Club InterContinental
Access to the Club InterContinental came with booking our suite and boy, is that a value-add to the stay. It’s a private lounge just for guests that are staying in the suites. It has its own pool with a stunning view and its own restaurant.
While you can enjoy breakfast at the lounge, the best part was Afternoon Tea and Canape Hour. We would walk over to the Club InterContinental around noon for Afternoon Tea, then stay awhile until Canape Hour started. What’s a canape, you say? They’re hot and cold finger foods that fill you up just right.
During canapes, there’s often live music performed by the lounge staff. You can’t beat that – food, cocktails, all while watching the gorgeous Fijian sunset – exactly what you dream of when you think of Fiji resorts.
The Dining Experience
When we weren’t busy enjoying the Club InterContinental lounge’s food offerings, we headed down to the main resort area for dining. Our favorite? The Sanasana restaurant.
Sanasana: Situated alongside the Sugar Cane train track and overlooking the Meke Lawn and Natadola Bay, Sanasana is a renowned Fiji restaurant that offers buffet breakfast, à la carte lunch and themed buffet dinner, with a different theme for dinner each evening.
Navo Specialty Dining: Discover elegant Fiji specialty dining overlooking the lagoon and the island of Navo. This specialty dining restaurant features contemporary cuisine inspired by the sea and an extensive range of new and old world wines. Be tempted by an array of the finest creations prepared in the glass-walled show kitchen at one of the best restaurants in Fiji.
Toba Bar & Grill: At the heart of the resort, enjoy casual Fiji dining at Toba Bar & Grill. Our grill features a wide range of dining options including wood-fired pizzas, burgers, and decadent desserts. Cocktails and drinks are available for poolside relaxing whilst overlooking picturesque Natadola Bay.
Kama Lounge: Overlooking the white sands of Natadola Bay and the azure ocean, Kama Lounge is the ideal place to sit back and relax as the sun sets over the South Pacific. Specializing in international and locally inspired cocktails and snacks, the bar team is dedicated to serving up enticing drinks in an ideal relaxing atmosphere.

The Grounds
The grounds at the InterContinental Fiji Resort are stunning. Lush greenery, fun exotic plants I never see in the U.S, gorgeous views of the hills, and of course jaw-dropping beaches.
Not only that, but the property boasts 3 swimming pools throughout the main property and 1 at the Club InterContinental so you have plenty of options to lay out or swim.
The property also sits right on the beach so you have direct access to the Natadola Bay beach. The sand is soft, the breeze is perfection, and the sky gets painted shades of pink and purple during sunset. Los Angeles delivers beautiful sunsets, but Fiji? Next level, friends.

My Overall Experience
As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels between leisure and work, but I have yet to stay at a hotel that beats the InterContinental Fiji Resort. Do you know what truly enhanced our honeymoon experience? The staff. Working in hospitality, I know what it’s like to have your ‘customer service face’ on, and after a decade of being in the industry, I know what that looks like and I can tell when it’s disingenuous. What really shocked me was that every single staff member we encountered on the property was authentic, genuine, and incredibly personable, especially the staff that worked at the Club InterContinental lounge.
Within the first few hours, most of them had memorized not only our names but our suite number. We never had to tell them what suite number we were in when we were being driven to our suite, and they always greeted us by name. I’m still stunned by that experience. Have you ever shed a tear saying farewell to the hotel staff? I didn’t think so. I sure had not, well, until I had to say goodbye to the InterContinental Fiji staff. They are truly the best of what Fiji resorts have to offer.
