Review of Zoëtry Paraiso Riviera Maya, Mexico

Zoetry Resorts Riviera Maya

This post is in partnership withCheapCaribbean.comas I was a judge for their 2017Noble Beach Prize. As always, all opinions are my own. Thank you for your continued support for Life in Wanderlust!

Back in October, I had the pleasure of visiting Cancun for the first time. I’m still dreaming of the beautiful room we had, the views, the drinks and the delicious ceviche (amongst tons of other food!) we got to experience. While we were packing for our trip, the weather forecast showed the Riviera Maya area raining the entire time with thunderstorms. Well guess what? We got lucky and it rained once overnight but sunny otherwise!

I was invited as a guest to the Zoëtry Paraiso de la Bonita Riviera Maya. This property was the winner for the “Most Spawesome Experience” of the CheapCaribbean.com‘s 2018 Noble Beach Prize! You can check out the winners for the 2018 Noble Beach Prize here and more beach-tastic posts on their blog here. I was fortunate to be one of the judges for this contest and just finished judging properties again for the 2019 winners!

Rooms

There’s only 100 suites at this Zoëtry resort and they’re all ocean-facing. Currently they have three separate suite types; the Impression Club Suites, the Butler Suites and Standard Suites. The Impression Club Suites according to a staff member, just opened early this year. We stayed in the Ocean Front One Bedroom Suite with Terrace.

Our suite was so spacious at 1,130 square feet with a king bedroom, spacious living room, a huge bathroom with a sunken bath tub and separate shower, a terrace by the bedroom and a balcony with seating and a hammock.

I’m a bath lover so you bet I enjoyed the sunken tub 1-2 times a day! Oh and the bed? So comfortable!

Dining

As I mentioned earlier, the  Zoëtry resort is an all-inclusive resort so anything you eat or drink is included. This resort had 3 dining options and let me tell you, all of them were winners!

El Chiringuito Beachside Grill – This restaurant is outdoors and ocean-front. As the name would suggest, they grill seafood, steak, chicken and more on a Zapote and mesquite wood fire. We enjoyed dinner here and enjoyed their steak, yum!

La Canoa Restaurant – This dining option is their high-end cuisine and is a AAA Four Diamond restaurant. They offer Cuisine de los Soles, a gourmet fusion of styles based on spices and chilies. We dined here once for dinner and it’s obvious why it’s a AAA Four Diamond restaurant. The presentation was stunning and I especially enjoyed their desserts. Reservations required.

Restaurant Kaax – This restaurant was the most often visited for us as they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. They focus on international cuisine with a Mexican twist. They even have a sushi and ceviche bar that’s open during lunch hours. I have to say Kaax was our favorite spot to eat because of the variety of food.

Library Bar – I feel like this was an under-appreciated spot at Zoëtry. It’s a quite and comfortable bar with an extensive collection of books and art.

Hippo’s Pool Bar – Who doesn’t want a poolside and ocean-front bar, right?

Grounds

Since the Zoëtry resort is a luxury wellness resort and as I mentioned earlier with only 100 suites, it’s an intimate and accessible space. It’s beautifully adorned with carefully curated art and decorations throughout the property. I especially loved running into several iguanas, tropical birds and resident peacocks that runs free throughout the resort. All experiences at this resort is oceanfront, which you really can’t beat! My favorite was spending time at the large pool eating ceviche, tacos while admiring the beach.

I would be shocked if you’re not drooling or daydreaming about the beach by now because I sure am! One thing I didn’t get a chance to mention through this post is how kind and friendly the staff at Zoëtry was. Honestly, every single person we interacted with was so helpful and delightful! As a former hospitality professional of 8+ years, I know that customer service can truly affect a guest’s experience.

We had such a lovely time and can’t wait to go back, hopefully soon! I’m a fan of Zoëtry resorts and looking forward to visiting their other locations in the future.

Wow Kana, that suite is seriously sweet! We can see why you'd be in that tub everyday, maybe even all day. Tea time, that beach, lots to love at Zoetry! Definitely saving this for our next Cancun trip – which hopefully won't be too far away. 🙂

Omg this place looks amazing! I like these smaller hotels more than those gigantic ones. Suite is so big and the food looks bomb!
