I want to start this Chevy Bolt EUV Review by disclosing that while I partnered with Chevy for an Instagram campaign, this blog post was not part of the partnership deliverables, and I am voluntarily writing this honest review.

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that I partnered with Chevy to drive around their new Chevrolet Bolt EUV for a week. Here is my honest Chevy Bolt EUV review as someone that lives in downtown LA and does not own an electric vehicle, let alone driven one ever!

Chevy Bolt EUV Exterior

Chevy Bolt EUV Exterior

The Chevy Bolt EUV’s exterior is sleek, chic, and well-designed. The shape actually reminds me of my own car, the Toyota C-HR actually! We got the grey but I’m really digging their Ice Blue Metallic shade if I were to get one. I’ll go into this more but even though the car looks like a compact SUV, the interior space is impressive! For someone that lives in DTLA though, the size is perfect. It fits the compact parking spaces with room to spare and is easy to maneuver through downtown streets and traffic.

As I briefly mentioned above, the interior of the Chevy Bolt EUV is incredibly spacious! I was truly surprised when I first sat in it. The best part for me as a dog Mom was that the backseat wasn’t cramped at all. It had so much space for Oshie’s hammock (this hammock is amazing; it keeps Oshie comfortable and the car clean!). You can tell in the pictures she’s happy as a clam!

Chevy Bolt EUV Cargo Space

With the front and back seats being so spacious, I was counting on the trunk space to be more limited. Wrong! There’s plenty of space to pack groceries, luggage, crates, and whatever you need to put in there. There’s ample width, depth, and height which makes for so much room in the back! If the standard cargo space isn’t enough for you, the backseats are flat-folding seats to extend the room.

Functionalities

Chevy Bolt EUV Screen Display
Apologies for the awful lighting and my reflection (oops!)

In all honesty (this is an honest review after all), the technology behind the user experience for me rarely impresses me as both cars I own are new as of the last year or two, and get to benefit from the cool tech stuff that’s included in newer cars. I will say that for the sake of this Chevy Bolt EUV review, I’m impressed with all that’s included for such a good starting price ($27,000+).

The driver display screen is pretty nifty too. It collects several data points such as driving behaviors, road conditions, and weather to tell you how it might impact the range of your driving experience. The touchscreen wasn’t glitchy at all as I’ve experienced in other cars. As an Apple ecosystem gal, I always appreciate the Apple CarPlay connectivity.

Rearview Mirror
The coolest camera-rearview mirror!

One thing neither of my cars has and wish it did, is the rearview mirror. It’s a mirror and camera all in one! It took me a few minutes to get used to the camera view but I honestly don’t know if I can go back to the traditional rearview mirrors!

Chevy Bolt EUV Charging Capability

For charging capability for the Bolt EUV, it’s compatible with Level 1, Level 2, and DC Fast Chargers. I personally don’t know how great that is, but I can confirm that my brother-in-law drives a Bolt and loves that capability!

There’s also a function called, “Regen on Demand”. ‘Regen on Demand allows the driver to convert kinetic energy into energy stored within the battery for future use by simply pulling on a steering wheel-mounted paddle.’

How cool is that?

Final Thoughts

As I shared earlier, this was my first experience driving an EV! Here are some of my final thoughts:

  • Initially I was stressed out about the timing of charging and where, but there’s so many charging points especially throughout LA!
  • The car was so quiet and smooth. It’s been a while since I’ve driven a Chevy and loved the ease and comfort.
  • For me, the backseat and cargo space are important as a Dog Mom and the Bolt had both. Hooray!
  • I forgot to snap a picute but this also came with a moonroof which is so lovely.
  • Being able to go 274 miles without a charge is incredible. I would be lying if I said it wouldn’t stress me out for a road trip, but it’s perfect for city life!
  • Lastly, don’t take my word for it. My brother-in-law owns the Chevy Bolt EV is obsessed with it!

I hope you enjoyed my Chevy Bolt EUV Review!
